The Gallery
The Gallery, a four piece from Wakefield, are creating a new movement in Alternative/Rock Music that is birthed as a backlash to over saturated, dying lad rock. They aim to redesign what a guitar band can be and convert their post-punk nihilistic flavours with hooks and rock tendencies.
In only one year of introducing their music and sound they have consistently sold out headline shows at 350+ capacity venues in Leeds such as The Key Club and The Wardrobe. They have supported fellow alternative bands Pretty Vicious and The Academic at venues like The Leeds Stylus and had international radio play all while being 17/18 years old. Hotly tipped and recognised by City Festival giants such as Futuresound and Tramlines, we have played Live at Leeds 2017, Tramlines 2017 & 2018 and Kendal Calling 2018. All of this has been achieved with just one single released and less than a year of starting this project.
Labelled as ‘Ones to Watch’, as well as ‘infectious, ambitious and full of swagger’ by GigSlutz, their debut EP, ‘A Safe Approach to Being’, was recorded by Mike Heaton of Embrace at Squirrel Studios containing songs that would be later featured on BBC Introducing Leeds and many radio stations nationally and internationally. After back-to-back sell out headline shows in early 2017, the band embarked on their debut tour in December. 2019 will be a defining year for the 4-piece The Gallery with massive new plans arising.
