The Frog Runners talk about their new single, titled “Still Inside”!
Picture: Credit to the photographer Hello The Frog Runners, thanks for your time. Would it be possible to introduce your band to our readers, as well as your roles in it? Hi Valentine, Thanks for inviting us on Distrolution! The Frog Runners is a power trio band, hailing from South West french coast near Hossegor and Biarritz. We play Rock n’roll, between pun, garage and surf music, but all of these is coated by an ultra-groovy vibe. Since 2017, we, Laurent (singer and guitar player), Jérémy (drummer) and Bud (bass player), never stopped working to give our best in lives. And that’s why we are frequently called a high energy power group. The authentical atmosphere we give opens doors of big stages and chances to play with mythic bands like the TOY DOLLS, for example. How would you describe the French rock scene from your own POV? The French Rock scene is today very eclectic and very rich, but unfortunately, not really highlighted. If you listen around, you can hear that rock n’roll is dead! bullshit! We think it’s more alive than the past years. The difference is that today, French rock scene is more “underground” and it exports itself in other countries. It's the case for the MNNQNS, Last Train, Inpector Cluzo for some of the most popular. In France, there is a real fishpond just waiting to be known and that’s why Distrolution and other media have a real duty. So, thank you very much! You have recently unveiled your new single, titled “Still Inside”. What's the story behind this song? Laurent: “I’ve been watching people around me for a few years, and they just seem to be like barbies, or robot or clones. They have the same way of thinking, the same attitudes! Reactions begin to be more similar and so predictable. And one day, I made a trip to toggians island, and I had an electroshock! All the people I met there were free and connected between them whatever religions, backgrounds or skin color they were. They were connected with their basic instinct. The human instinct! So, In STILL INSIDE, we talk about the relationship between I.A and humans, and the domination of the powerfull over the poor. How they control people and when will people be decided to be free and dis-reconnected ! Still inside: are humans still inside us? That’s the question! To know our answer, listen to our song! This single comes along with a music video. How was the shooting experience? Motor ….. action!! What a day!! First of all we want to thank LOULA PRODUCTION and LANDES MUSIQUES AMPLIFIEES because without them, nothing would have been possible. They made a real huge work!! You have to know that a music video needs 4 months, to prepare the filming day and 1 more month to finish it really. We invited friends and fans to be actors in the video and the casting was very good ^^ We were about 60 people on stage during a long long day from 6 a.m to 11 p.m, it was so intense! It was something like: Make up , dance, remake up, playback, remake up, action etc. etc. and other things! We loved playing automats, even though it was really hard to stay serious for so long! By the way, if you watch carefully the music video you can observe a few grins ^^ It was a real good experience, and we are looking forward to doing the next one! How’s your usual writing process for your songs? Laurent writes all the songs, lyrics and melodies, and after we work it out step by step all together. Sometimes, we make Jam sessions to feel more connected and sometimes, melodies or riffs just come out of knowhere and it’s on for a new creation. The last words are for you.
