SOLILOQUIUM - Pre-release album stream "Contemplations"
ALBUM STREAM "CONTEMPLATIONS"
ABOUT "CONTEMPLATIONS" ALBUM
Soliloquium will release their highly anticipated sophomore full-length "Contemplations" June 1 on Chicago's Transcending Records. Pre-order "Contemplations": http://transcendingrecords.com/CDs/10419/Soliloquium-Contemplations-CD.html "Contemplations" was once again produced by Mike Watts (Sleepwalkers, Terminus), who also handles the drums and electronics this time around. As for the sound of "Contemplations" generally, expect a more varied, less standard death/doom metal offering from Soliloquium. Don't worry though. The Stockholm darkness will still be highly present. Fill the void of the Katatonia hiatus! "Soliloquium nimbly guide the listener through a progression of moods that reveals the depth and sophistication of the band's emotional intuition." - Invisible Oranges "Sounding more like a band with 10 albums in their past, it's amazing that this is only Soliloquium's 2nd. It's an incredible effort." [9.5/10] - Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life "The gloomy, Katatonia-esque riffing is dead-on and helps to pull you into the mood at any given moment, and the band's switch-ups from heavier riffing to more melancholic melodies keep the listener enamored with the amount of layering and textures." - Dead Rhetoric "For their very melodic Doom they have taken as a model bands like Katatonia, Anathema and Paradise Lost." - Metal.de "They take the power of death metal and give a punch to the mourning atmosphere of doom. If you miss Opeth on 'Orchid' then this is worth your time." [9/10] - Abysmal Hymns "Another great sounding recording from Soliloquium and if you are a fan of melodic doom/death metal, you should check out this album." - Doomed to DarknessARTWORK
