Revolutio is a post apocalyptic alternative metal band, formed in 2011 and hailing from Bologna, Italy. Back in November 2018, the band released their album “Vagrant” via Inverse Records. Coming from the DIY punk scene, reviewing a metal album is not that easy for me... But guess what? I actually enjoyed this album!
I indeed love the fact that each track on this release has its own style. And that's why I think each one of you, no matter what you listen to every day, will be able to love at least a song from this album!
For those who like thrash songs, I think that you'll prefer listening to “The Meek and the Bold”. While fans of alternative metal will probably prefer listening to “Requiem”.
If I had to pick one song on this release, I'd pick “The Oracle” for the instrumental parts. I think the band will really stand out from other bands thanks to their riffs and the diversity of the instrument on each track.
If I really had to find a negative point for this album, I would say that the length of the closing track is not very appropriate. Although this song is a sequel to the opening song, I think it should have been the same length as the opening track... But that's just my own point of view!
Otherwise, well done, Revolutio! I think that this album is quite good. You convinced me to review a metal band for the first time, so hands down. On a side note, I also wanted to highlight the quality and the design of the artwork. It's an amazing one and this is absolutely the type of artwork I'd love to be able to do one day, well done!
