Pop punk band Seven Stories High are set to self-release their forthcoming EP ‘Deadweight’ on 26th November 2017.
The EP was recorded at Mwnci Studios in West Wales. It was mixed and mastered by local technician Tom Williams. The band, who are influenced by State Champs, The Wonder Years and Four Year Strong, describe the release as “almost split in two –half follows a fast up-beat Pop Punk feel, which gets people dancing and jumping around. The other is heavier -fuller sounding and darker in feel, which you can chant and scream along to.”
Yet, the EP flows as one piece of music. Each track was written to fit the narrative, whilst being open enough to interpretation for listeners to make a personal connection.
As a preview, the band released on October 11th 2017 a music video for single 'Apathy'. This track is taken from their forthcoming EP.
Vocalist Rhys Hyett-Ferrier commented: “The video was written by us together and filmed by Alex-Jay Moore. The video, much like the EP, is playing into our version of the Greek Myth of King MIDAS, who turns his daughter marigold into solid gold. It was a lot of fun to film, and we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it. Big love to Amy-Beth McCarthy for being our 'Marigold'.”
If you're into catchy pop punk tracks, don't miss the release of their EP on November 26th 2017!
