Livingston talk about new single, “Show Me the Money”!

Press photo by Scheier .hr Hello Livingston, thanks for your time. Would it be possible to introduce your band to our readers, as well as your roles in it? PHIL: I mainly play bass and keys Beukes: Singer Chris: Guitar and Keys Jan: Drummer and world famous hand-model How would you describe, from your own POV, the UK rock scene? PHIL: For me, the uk rock scene has always been the place to find new and exciting bands. Chris: Unfortunately, we don’t get to spend much time in the UK scene these days. We moved to Berlin quite a while ago. But as a spectator, I’d say that the UK scene is as always a vibrant music scene since it is such a melting pot from all over the world. Your new single “Show me the Money” is now available. What's the story behind this song? Beukes: The idea behind the song is, if you could sit down with money as an identity / person, what would happen. The opening lines, “Money walks in and sits down at the bar, Why the long face says the barman I saw, You walk in and wipe all the tears from you face, You’re smiling and you’re grinning but I know its all fake”. Naturally the song ends with ‘Money’ drunk dancing on a table creaming abuse at the people. That’s pretty much exactly how I thought an evening with ‘Money would go. The artwork of the single is really cool. Who created it and where did the inspiration come from? Chris: I make all our visuals. And thank you, I’m glad you like it. The inspiration comes from sitting listening to the song and then just letting myself go. It just kind of happens and I try not to think about it too much, just let the song influence me.

“Show me the Money” is taken from your upcoming album. Any details you can share with us concerning this upcoming release? PHIL: The new album “This is a Robbery” is something we have been working at on and off for a few years now. I think because of that process it covers a broad spectrum of our tastes and influences which means something for old and new fans a like. The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance! "Oh freddled gruntbuggly, Thy micturations are to me As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee. Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes, And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles, Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts With my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't!" Thanks for your time guys!
