Lake Acacia talk about their new single and video, ‘The Weekend’!

Hello, LAKE ACACIA! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. As a start, would you mind introducing your band to our readers? Hello, we are LAKE ACACIA, a three-piece modern alt rock band from oxford. We're formed of Adam Budd on guitar/lead vocals, Tim Groethe on bass guitar/backing vocals and Joe Homer on drums/backing vocals. We’re all between the ages of 21 - 23. How would you describe the UK rock scene from a global POV? We think the rock scene is still pretty big worldwide. It's definitely more of an acquired taste in terms of the music and the most important thing is getting your music into the hands of the right listeners all around the world. That being said I think rock is appreciated by those who don't necessarily listen to it all of the time. You have recently released your new single and video, ‘The Weekend’. Would you mind introducing this song to our readers? ‘The Weekend’ is generally about letting go a bit and trying to enjoy yourself, not stressing about the small things so you can let loose and have a good time. Most people see the weekend as a time to forget about work and responsibilities for a short period and is a chance to be free from those things. How was your writing process for this single? The writing process for this song was one of the best bits. ‘The Weekend’ is the first ever song that was recorded, mixed and mastered completely by ourselves. As well as the music video which was done by us too. Because of this there was a lot of trial and error along the way to try and get the best end result but that was what made it so fun to create. What about the shooting experience? Any funny story to share with us? The whole shooting experience was pretty rowdy to make just because of the type of video it is. The shots of us in the car and around the fire were especially fun to film as we just tried to go completely nuts all the time. We weren’t even listening to music, drunk or anything. Quite a funny story from that shoot is that when we all jumped over the gate towards the end of the video, Joe managed to dislocate his finger. We didn’t notice until we went to watch back the footage and saw that Joe’s finger was looking a bit out of shape and pretty dodgy. Adam’s car broke down every couple of minutes as well. Everything kept seeming to break when we were filming that video, whether it was Adam’s car or Joe’s fingers, we got there eventually though. The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance! Check out new and upcoming bands for sure. You never know where some of these bands are going to end up and could be the next big thing so support them in their early stages. Go to their shows, give them a like like/comment/share on social media and add their music to your playlists, this stuff is appreciated so much. Some of this takes seconds to do whilst you’re scrolling through your phone and some doesn’t cost a thing. But helps bands that are trying to make it a heck of a lot more than you’d imagine. Thanks for your time!
