Skate, Punk and Heartbreaks are the first associations that come to mind whilst listening to Elm Tree Circle. From October 2019 till today, they’ve released their first four singles taken from their upcoming album “NO FOMO”, this last one included.
On their new single “Violent Soho On The Mood”, the band remarks: “This song was written while I explored the punk rock scene in Melbourne, Australia for a few months. I had this grunge duo project with my buddy Grant going on and he showed me around the local scene. One night we were going to this house party in Footscray, a rather suburban part of town where a lot of the scene was going on. It was a pretty memorable experience. You had to wear glitter on your body in order to get in and they had some sick bands playing in the kitchen. The glitter stuck with me for weeks after. The memories of that night went into this song that we wrote together as a little keepsake for the good time we had during the whole time I was in Melbourne. I finished my stay with a tour together with Grant. I opened as Elm Tree Circle and we finished the night with our grunge band where I banged the drums. Oh, and the song is titled after the opening line in the first verse. We always listened to Violent Soho before we jammed or went to sweet parties. A band that’s worth checking out if you haven’t heard of it. The “Yay yay yay yay” in the verses is a tribute to their song “Covered in Chrome””.
