Black Stone Cherry unveil new album "Family Tree" details

Photo credits : Harry Resse[/caption] As for his previous album, the quartet decided to do things "in his own way". So they went back to the small town of Glasgow, KY, to the Barrick Recording, where they had recorded their very first album and "Kentucky". But this time the musicians pushed things a little further by producing themselves. Moreover, in order to preserve the spontaneity and warmth of their music, the band didn't want to "over-repeat" their new songs, often trying to box them directly, while singer/guitarist Chris Robertson did the mixing himself. ARTWORK

Family Tree "presents 13 tracks of" Southern American rock' n roll ", the result of a collective work that reflects the influences of each member. The presence of two guests fits in perfectly with the family concept so dear to BSC, since Chris' son, 5 years old, participates in the choir of "You Got The Blues", while Warren Haynes (Allman Bros/Gov't Mule) offered his voice and guitar on "Dancing In The Rain". The group first met Warren 17 years ago when they signed their first contract in New York. The family always counted in the life of Black Stone Cherry. We remember that the father and uncle of drummer John Fred Young are the founders of country rock band The Kentucky HeadHunters. Members of the band Jon Fred, Chris Robertson (guitar), Ben Wells (guitar) and Jon Lawhon (bass) are schoolmates who grew up in the Headhunters rehearsal room, building on the land of the Young family farm. It is there, between these 4 wooden walls covered with posters of Cream, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Stones, Montrose and Faces that these four kids made their first weapons and started to build what would become Black Stone Cherry...
